While working Seed Survivor in the Ag-tivity in the City tent, I wanted to make friends with a farmer and feed a calf by a bottle and play with piglets.  Somehow, I met a nice pig farmer named Shawn, who is also a City of Calgary Police Officer!  His family is also very nice, and his girls come play and help out at our booth.

Anyways...to make a long story short, this morning I got to play with the piglets before we opened.  So fun!  I can't wait to play with them more.  They are so soft.  These little guys were 7 days old today, but when they are first born they are the size of a water bottle.  And I was told today by Kaylee (pig farmers oldest daughter) that the pigs are ready for market when they are 5.5 months old.  And we thought our bean plants grew big! 

I want to keep you!

Here's a fun fact for you.  Male pigs can get up to 1000 pounds!  That's one large pig.

The Anti-Climatic Royal Sighting

I got up at 5:50 AM Friday morning to get down to the parade route for my attempt to see Will and Kate before I had to go to work on the grounds.

Although I did get to see them fly by in their motorcade, I was disappointed they weren't in a carriage, or in a classic convertible.

I somehow managed to get a decent picture out of it though.  Not sure how.  At first the picture looks like no big deal....but a little zooming in, and I discovered I have Kate smiling and a decent profile of Will!  :)

Summer Fun Time!

Changed the title of my Blog since this won't be really used as an agenda anymore.  Will try to write things as they happen.

St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana

Got back from Glacier National Park yesterday.  Had a fun time camping!  A nice way to unwind and get into the swing of summer vacation.  Although, it would have been nice if the truck from Illinois hadn't backed into my car...time to call insurance.
